Mandalay Villas
Personality that fits your lifestyle

hen there is true elegance in the details, there are stories to tell about your home for years to come. Mandalay Villas, a premier high-end home builder, creates a home room by room. Each living area, bedroom, kitchen, patio, or study is designed and constructed with its own unique texture and personality – and the rooms flow together as chapters in one’s favorite story.

The approach taken by Edward Mandel, Mandalay Villas’  president and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist for 2004, and his wife, Irene Mandel, designer and visionary, and Samuel Mandel, custom home building expert, is to design a home with thoughtful attention to each room’s personality, and to how the home will flow together as a whole. From the wrought-iron handrail on the staircase inlaid with a design found only in the iron maker’s home, to the particular color of Venetian plaster used for a formal dining room, to the beautiful chandelier that Irene picked out herself on her last trip to Europe, each detail has been thoughtfully considered.

The attention to exquisite design starts even before the lot is selected. Mandalay Villas is the only Dallas-area home builder to have a more than 10-year relationship with Val Biktashev, the nation’s leading authority and author on the art of Feng Shui. Mandalay Villas brings Mr. Biktashev from his home in Los Angeles to consult on each lot purchase, home design and pool and landscape design. Location of doors and windows, choices in colors and materials, and placement of pools and outdoor landscaping are all considered for their harmonious interaction. As a result, the home is built with excellent flow and balance, ready to bring the fortunes of Feng Shui to its owner.

Personally yours
The Mandels started Mandalay Villas (a play on their own name) as a labor of love to bring to the Dallas area the level of detail and appreciation for art they found in the buildings of Europe, where Samuel spent years learning the intricacies of construction from Old World masters. They build each home with their own family in mind – a built-in window seat Irene’s daughter would enjoy, a beautiful mahogany study Irene’s husband would enjoy reading in, a top-of-the-line security system that takes safety completely off their minds.

Each Mandalay Villa is constructed by the best talent Dallas has to offer, all under the watchful eye of Samuel Mandel. Whereas most home builders spend perhaps a small part of the day watching the building process, Samuel spends the kind of time supervising construction that one would spend on his own home, making sure each detail is finished to his level of satisfaction -- and the homeowner’s.

Mandalay Villas has relationships with many top Dallas designers who, along with Irene, spend hours consulting on everything from the color of the brick, to the selection of the fireplace, to the way each room is lit. Only the finest in contractors are used for everything from the frame to the front yard, each meeting a rigorous standard set forth by Mandalay Villas on behalf of the homeowner.
